These critters are flying squirrels, unlike the the squirrels you see in the daytime, the
flying squirrel seems to be quite gentle. I have had eight at one time feeding. Anything made from grain they like. Sweet corn seems like candy to them.

Just in case anyone has forgot what snow looks like

After the lake was brought up to its new level, the only access to the property was by boat. East of the property is a logging road, We put in a rough connecting road in  1962, there were two parts of this road so steep that the winch on the jeep had to be used. Plus on the bench above the house is a bottomless mud bog that required the use of the winch to drive through. After I retired, one summers project was to make this road usable. The picture shows the start of a 120 ft bridge. Logs were used as stringers, 8 inch ceder posts were used as cross members, rough sawn 2x12s planks on top of the posts. Everything was done by hand by myself, using a old TD9,
Took 4 weeks to finish, the worst part of the job was the darn mosquitoes.

By 1995 the stringers were starting to rot out and rather than try                       and rebuild, I cleared a roadway to the left side, cut aprox 900                         16 ft cedar poles and used them as a base for a corduroy road.
