1959, property located on Arrow Lake BC Canada. note 1957 Jeep on the left, this vehicle is still running good, the body is not in as good as shape as then, but neither is mine
A Dam was constructed on the lake in the early 60s, where the house was, is now under water. The house was moved about 200 yards to the left of the jeep
and about 150 foot higher elevation. The old log outbuildings were burnt in place.
1960 after the old place had a coat of green stain.
1964, a sad day, more better known as progress
Jess Koening and his Dad "Charlie" lower left corner
One month after the move, note; the porch had been a micky-mouse afair to start with, Jess decided to tear it off, with the intention of rebuilding it in the near future. Years later in the 80s I finally built a new porch
1 year after move to new location. Spring of 1970 the year the lake was raised to its new level
Oct 1970. the 1st high water, the year after this picture was taken a old cedar dock that was used at the flooded Edgewood town site floated in. Jess anchored it to shore and we used it untill 1982,
When the old dock got to bad of shape to use, I built a breakwater out of logs that sticks straight out into the lake 60 ft, it is wedge shape 12 ft wide at the point and 40 ft at its base, 1400 yards of fill were hauled in using the old TD9. Working alone and filling in as I went up I was 14 days start to finish.
By 1997 the orginial logs were starting to rot out and I decided to build a cement wall completly around the logs, 240 bags of cement and three years later the job was done, while not a work of art, it will withstand anything thing short of a direct hit by a cruise missile
